Liberated School House is an intentionally small, home-based Montessori preschool located in Southwest Portland, serving children ages 2 to 5 years old.
Our school is rooted in over 13 years of experience building thoughtful, child-centered Montessori communities.
Now, we return to our roots, creating a deeply connected, small, home-based environment here in our new community, Portland, Oregon.
Nestled in a beautiful home in the hills, Liberated School House offers a calm, nurturing space where children are free to explore, create, and grow at their own pace. With a maximum of just 12 children, we are able to truly know each child, supporting their independence, honoring their individuality, and fostering meaningful relationships.
Our days are grounded in Montessori principles and enriched with child-led play, social-emotional learning, Spanish language exposure, and a screen-free environment that protects the magic of early childhood.

The House
Located in Portland Heights near Ainsworth Elementary, our school is set within a beautifully restored home built in the early 1900s.
The house is full of character, warm, inviting, and rich with history, creating a space that feels both comforting and inspiring for young children.
Inside, we offer two large and spacious classrooms designed to support both community and independence, allowing children to come together or find quiet moments of focus as they need.
Outdoors, our purposeful play space invites exploration, movement, and connection with nature.
Surrounded by lush greenery and a calm, quiet neighborhood, the environment naturally supports a sense of peace and presence. On clear days, the house offers views of the mountains, reminding us of the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
